POLITICIANS ANONYMOUS
Elizabeth Gerringer
Knowing, being, saying
nothing,
Not to those we thought were friends.
Trusting, crying, coping,
Hoping friends will not deceive us again.
Power changes because it exposes.
Stronger, more powerful,
Wait in shadows, knowing who are really foes.
Quietly listening, smiling, caring,
Patience is rewarded now.
The ones who used us then deposed us
Do not take the final bow.
At Politicians Anonymous. |
