REINDEER MADE OF ICE |

REINDEER MADE OF
ICE
Elizabeth Gerringer
Christmas in the city,
Enjoyed by a visitor from the farm.
Sometimes the sights are amazing,
And are really cause for alarm.
While strolling through Union Square
One year near Christmas morn,
I saw a reindeer made of ice
Looking somewhat forlorn.
His ears were very pointed,
His jaws set,
His eyes very bright.
He seemed to be frozen in time,
Was about three feet high,
An incredible sight.
I thought he would spring forth,
Dancing about,
Revealing lost dreams.
He didn't though.
But his year he might.
And then I will know how it seems. |
